I agree...at the CBA last year there were >40 beers in the other category basically the NGWBJ cats didn't cover them. They did the right thing though...the other category with split into Belgian and speciality. Admittedly there were some beers e.g. russian imp stout that should have gone in the strong ale category etc.
Luckily, last year there were experienced judges at hand to taste the Belgian cat (well Ant Hayes :clap: )...I noticed this year there are less than half the number of Belgian beers entered? Also less light bitter? weird :wha: Just noticed that the belgian cat is split into 2 - so there's 10 or so more belgians this year...but still 40 or so less bitters?
I've tasted my entered beers last night (they were conditioned as per the comp bottles...okay okay they weren't hurled around like a shot putt by the post office though :hmm: ) one's okay the other has a fault vs the BJCP guidelines :whistle: I'm not saying what it is but it's due to the bottle conditioning. Just in case a judge is a forum member :?
