I'm going to start my second brew next week and I have a few questions I did a woodfords wherry for my first brew and after two weeks in the bottles I had my first taste and it's not bad still a bit cloudy though and needs more fizz but that will get better the longer I leave it. I followed the instructions on the box . this time after doing some reserch on here I'm going to do it this way
Start brew in primary bucket but leave it in maybe an extra 5 days or so after its finished. Then rack to a keg I have then leave it in the cold for a week then rack and prime into bottles
Does this sound OK?
The kit I'm Brewing is another woodfords. Admirals reserve
The questions I have are.
the kit comes with a packet of dry hops do I just sprinkle on top before adding the yeast or do I sprinkle and stir them in
I have a youngs pressure keg I'm going to use as a secondary fv do I need airlock? It comes with 2 caps one for adding co2 and one with just a tiny hole with like a rubber collar over the hole do I use that one?

Hi , what you plan is good and fine . If you wanted to you could just leave your brew in the first fv . Dry hops should be added to the fv after around 3 to 4 days after start (after the first stage ) using a hop bag makes it easy to remove hops otherwise you'll need some kind of filter . Remember to sterilise the hop bag if using . Hope it goes well .

I'm with Pittsy, forget the secondary bit and just cool your primary for a few days to help it clear before bottling.

a tiny hole with like a rubber collar over the hole
This is your pressure release valve.

Cheers guys think I'll do that saves me Messing about racking. do I need to put it in the cold to clear before bottling? And iv just checked the box it has a packet of goldings hop powder do I still need to filter or do I I just stir them in before adding the yeast?
