What would you give up for the rest of your life, if you had to pick one.

Would you give up meat? Or would you give up alcohol?

:D

I had a delicious steak last night, but then I had some delicious beer too!
It would have to be meat...

A lot of my friends and people I know struggle with this question...

Perhaps it wont strike up as much debate on a home brew forum  , or a cow-farming forum for that matter.

no contest. Quorn make some lovely meat substitutes... there is no substitute for a good beer

TBH im a massive lover of both and id hate to choose but at the end of the day meat doesnt get you ****** so the way i look at it at least i can drown my sorrows while missing my meat

i stopped eating (and cooking) meat a loooooong time ago.
I stopped drinking for a few years too, but during that time i kept on brewing!!!!

so although the question doesn't really apply to me it would meat, i do enjoy a drink much more

Meat as any meat substitute would taste like the finest sirloin after a good few beers :thumb:

But no matter how many steaks you have there's no substitue for a good beer

Beer.

There is wine, spirits etc. But there is NO substitute for a bacon sandwich, Steak and kidney pie, Lamb Madras, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chille con Carne, Crispy duck, Roast leg of lamb, Roast Beef, Beefburgers, Kebabs, Spag Bol, Venison, Porchetta, Suckling pig, meat lovers pizza, Lasagne, Toad in the hole, Full English Breakfast etc...

But then i'd rather have a threesome with my mother and sister than become a veggie. :nono:

Aftershave has alcohol in it too. Is that out as well?

It should be food or alcohol as there are millions of products with alcohol in... Like make up and my Missus NEEDS make up. She NEEDS it.

Agree with meb on this one, plus, come on brewstew.....quorn...aint that made from woodshavings?, i remember being given a pack of quorn sausages once, cooked them, tasted them and they were foul....so i chucked them on the grass for the birds, 5 days later, i had to pick them up to cut the grass, even the birds wouldn't touch them...that tells me something,
However, i have stopped buying meat from supermarkets, as its such low quality ****, and gone back to a proper butcher..it would be hard to give up meat to be honest.....
