Hi,
Wonder if someone can help with this.

How long is it best to leave the beer after adding isinglass before the final racking to corny keg??
I've added magicol isinglass finings to a batch of beer this morning at about 8am, ideally I'd like to rack the beer tonight but I am wondering if I should give it a little more time??
The beer has been kept at 5 degrees for the past 4 days and had polyclar added on day 2.

I plan to bottle this batch carbonated and bright from the corny using my beer gun, but obviously don't want any crud in there.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Ideally you want around a minimum of 24 hours for the finings to work . . . . Although in the right circumstances I've seen good quality isinglass clear a cask in 6 hours.

personally I'd give it a bit longer . . . the real problem is if you end up with 'fluffy bottoms' . . you want to avoid fluffy bottoms at all costs. As your beer has Polyclar added to it that could only exacerbate your fluffy bottom.

Rack the beer to corny from the surface of the FV, and be prepared to stop early if you do start to disturb any fluffy bottom.

Thanks Aleman,

I was aware that I would end up with a fluffy bottom ;)
Was going to leave the last 2 or 3 litres in there anyway.

I will give it another 24 hours and then rack.

Thanks :thumb:
