I use one of those and a duotight party tap, they work very well if I get my carbonation right.

Will it matter what size gas line? The reg I'm looking at comes with a 3/8" push fit to which I can connect to the same size Duotight on the keg with a length of 3/8,so easy to do. Does gas line length matter?

I've also seen videos of the beer tube inside the keg being cut shorter. Is this necessary?

Ok, that's what I was talking about too. Often called a picnic tap. There are others that connect directly to the keg that look very like kegerator taps. As I said, the length of the line is important, otherwise you'll get a glass of foam.

No, Gas line can be any diameter and length. I use 5/16" because then I only need to have 8mm fittings and not a mess of different sizes lying around. Just make sure your gas line isn't so short that it's putting pressure on the connectors and leaking.

No idea, Assume it's a floating dip tube, so it has to be long enough to reach the bottom. So maybe it's supplied a bit longer and people cut off the excess.

Thanks again!! I think the tap I pictured comes with 1.5m of pipe. I'm wondering if,as they're a complete kit,the line length etc has been tested?

Maybe. But carbonation levels vary, so it can't be spot on for everything, Just looked it up there, it's 3/16 (4.76mm) which at 12psi may be a bit fobby at 1.5m. For contrast, I use 4mm hose in my kegerator cut to 2.1m, when I used 3/16", I had it at 4m and it was too fobby, so I changed to 4mm.

Yeah, beer line is cheap, so you can always add more. That tap uses push on fittings, so no problem to take off the 3/16" section and replace with a longer one.

Yeah ,, it’s obvious budget but works perfectly.. only gripe I got was the fittings ,, I did a leak test in a bucket of water and both push in gas valves bubbled but I sorted it with a couple of rubber O’ rings

You can disconnect the beer line and run water through it and clean the connectors separately. Or just put a carbonation cap on a PET bottle full of cleaner and run it through the tap and then follow up with sanitiser. Or just water and sanitiser and leave it.

I use carb cap and pet bottle. Good squeeze and the line is clear

Hello all!
My plans for getting a brew on in the next few days are on course!
The bottling of said brew still isn't appealing but will if I need to!
This brings me to the above mentioned Oxebar stuff I've just noticed from Malt Miller...I'm probably late to the party on this!
So...anyone using them? I'm interested in the 20l size and to start would gas them with the 16oz c02 cartridges for convenience. What would be the preferred/best/easiest pressurising method for these kegs? Also...cleaning etc,considering they've got tubes and stuff! Ideally I'd like to get them filled and gassed then this time of year can be stored in the shed and used as required.

I have 2x 20 and 1 x 8 litre Oxebars work a treat keeps beer for at least 6 months, although mine never last that long. I do have 3 x 19 Litre stainless steel corny kegs as well
