OK well you need to have signed contracts, lodged deposit funds with your solicitor and then they ring the other solicitor and ask to exchange contracts, they will then pay over the deposit funds. Exchange is the point at which everything is legally binding and the completion date will be set in stone.

Prior to completion your solicitor will request the mortgage funds from your lender and then send that and any monies which were not part of the deposit to the seller's solicitor.

Already done that, completely forgot, I think the solicitor is now worried that I am mad...

Posted at the same time as you, money already in progress (solicitor should have it all by now) & as mentioned above, contracts sorted too :)

Going to have to buy something

Not brewed for ages and the last brew was for TST - Need the move to go quickly and smoothly so I can get a brew on asap! ;)

I'm sure there must be someone on the forum who is close by to give you a bottle or 2 as a house warming gift

happy days, just mind and stay cool when moving, it's meant to be really stressfull, I didn't really find it to stress full, but I know allot of folk do, exciting times though mate.

The physical bit I dont mind too much, my last move was the worst, only 2 doors down the street! - No time to sit in a van and rest!

Got a few bits of decorating that need to be done before we move in and then its all go!

Congrats mate, must be a weight off after everything you've been through to get a house!!

We get our keys 2 weeks today, it's been sooo long since our offer was accepted. The vendor had to give her tenant a month's notice which she wouldn't do til contracts were exchanged. So all in all it'll be 14 weeks from offer to completion.

:hat:

14 weeks is pretty normal at the moment, I've a flat which has been ongoing since 30th January between 2 lethargic solicitors, a disinterested management company and laid back buyer I'm wondering if I'll ever get paid.

That is a view with which one could never tire...

The sort of spot that encourages the drinking of decent brew and watching the turn of the seasons.

Lucky bugger. :thumb:

With our move it wasn't so much the stress but the searing heat! By the time we had done I was totally fecked up and with not a cold beer in sight.. I'm ashamed to admit I had to call into the co op for 6 cold cans of Stella and I have to say they were the best cans of Stella I have ever had, they went down without touching the sides!
Cornies are all up and running now though.

Stella always should go down without touching the sides. You certainly wouldn't want to get any of it on your tongue!

All I can say about that view is it looks good enough to be in Yorkshire :)

You are a lucky man.

Oh yes! 5 hours sleep and a mild hangover this morning....
Pack the kids off to school in a bit and then off to wetherspoons for breakfast! Will stick with a cuppa today, and then its a case of waiting for a call to get the keys :-) do we get them from the solicitor or the estate agent? Not sure we have been told? Not that it really matters, they are about 200ft apart :-)
