I had occassion to visit this fine establishment last weekend after a training day with work.
Huge copper kettles rising vertically behind the bar.
I got talking to one of their barmen/brewers and as soon as he found out I made AG homebrew he brought out the whole range of beers they made to taste.
Lovely guy and superb beer.
One of the beers was their IPA and as soon as I tasted it I said "That's got citra in it". He said I obviously knew my stuff! Cool night.
Another of their beers is brewed to a 15th century recipe using no hops but herbs instead. 8.5% and he was good enough to sell me a bottle to take home with me (which he wasn't allowed to do).
Refreshing (literally) to find a proper place that sells real beer on the continent.
I'm typing this from Paris where I'm working from until tomorrow.
Hard life innit? ;-)
Here's a photo of the inside of the brewery / pub in Holland.
