Hi all I picked up some hop tea bags to improve a couple of cheap kits I picked up in the tesco sale. How long do I leave it in the fermentor for? I put it in a mug of boiling water and added that and the bag on day 3.

cheers in advance for any advice
 
There seems to be some rumour that dry hopping for a long period of time (above 7 days) can produce grassy flavours, though I;ve never done it so I wouldn't know.
I know people dry hop for longer than that, but the usual seen in most recipes tends to be 7 days.
