I'm an aging Lancashire lad that grew up in New Zealand. I'm three years into my third foray into homebrewing - I first dabbled way back in the early 80's when the product of homebrewing tended to stretch the definition of what could reasonably be considered beer.

Living in Auckland I'm generally brewing stove-top partial mash beers these days using local ingredients exclusively.

,Nau mai, haere mai

you must have access to some great ingredients, especially the hops grown in the sounds.

My wife is a kiwi, this time last year we were back in her home land, enjoying the warm summer Christmas weather.

Kia ora, Tene Koe.

Kia ora, tena koe! There are several Kiwis and people with links to NZ on this forum. I lived in Wellington for several years with my Kiwi wife but we're back in the UK these days. Loved the NZ beer scene, expensive though, that's why I got into home brewing! Soon to brew an NZ Pils in homage to Emersons Pilsner, the memories! If you need any inspiration for NZ style beers let me know.

Likewise! I haven't bought beer for a few years now, though have suffered serious wallet-surgery a few times on the rare occasion I've been to an actual pub - their pints are stupidly expensive here!

Homebrewing is definitely one DIY pursuit that actually saves a decent amount of money!
