Just a thought, but I recently spotted some Whitworths "Molasses Sugar" in the pantry which my wife had squirrelled away and has been using for baking.

After a little investigation the resinous, dark block turned out not to be illegal drugs but rather unrefined cane sugar and -after a little more investigation - tasted pretty good!

Good enough, in fact, to potentially be used in a beer - my initial thought was that it would be a good addition to a porter or stout for winter, so :hmm: I was wondering whether anyone else has tried it or whether it would be unsuitable due to it's "impurity"!
