Just over a week ago i decided to get a brew on to christen my first corny keg. Decided to go for an Edme bitter brewed short to 20l, S04 yeast and a bit of dry hopping after 4 days. Anyway, the other day i came into the house after crippling myself in the garden and shed all day to find my misses sat on the end of the bed hair-drying her hair extensions, blasting the dryer straight at my fermentation bucket from about 1 and half foot away. I know from almost daily experience/torture this must of gone on for at least ten minutes.

After the obligatory rollicking i doled out, i checked the bitter and it seemed to be ok, it hadn't really heated up much thank fluck! Still it scared the crap out of me though. Thought my second ever batch was going down the plughole.

hoho lucky you caught her,SWMBO is clever but no common sense thats how all my stuff is kept out of her way she isnt to be trusted :thumb:

not just yours mate most of em have nil common sense :?

yeah that seems to be there thing, but there bloody good at other things ie getting me to buy stuff that she wants and i dont :wha: would love to know how she does it dont even realise till i am home and i am carrying it in the house

I think you're over-reacting. Wafting a hair dryer around for a few minutes in the vicinity of your FV isn't going to have much effect. It would take significantly longer to raise your brew temperature due to thermal mass.

Was aware of thermal mass, its just a sharp shock to find your brew getting the hairdryer treatment.

Note to self: Stop overeacting
