2000 watts is actually only 8 or 9 amps, but I would also look at getting something that can handle 3kw, just to be on the safe side.

Is WiFi 100% bullet proof?
Seen a few issues with the connect controller too :hmm:

I got mine from malt Miller.
Great company.
Thinking I'll buy the new controller, looked last nite how to get the recipe onto it...
I love gadgets, shiny shiny!....on-line shopping I'm afraid..
Got the smaller pipe work & and the GF HLT. Hops spider.
Need the therm jacket now!!! Just not only to feed my shopping appetite, but for better efficiency.
Don't believe scammers blatant!! Eh!

Got the Bluetooth app..
And this one on my mobile..so far I think the session part of it would be good for me...

It seems the Amazon scammer is at it again.
This time trading using a hacked account called Braden Biosecurity.
Grainfather all in one for £419.00 as well as a boat load of other good like graphics cards etc that would normally sell way above their asking price.
I think its important that we keep on top of this and keep these scams posted on here as any one thinking of buying one may well be advised otherwise after a quick google search.

So is it worth getting a separate sparge water heater? Does the grain father not do all the work for sparging anyway?

Yes, you will need something. Whether you get the GrainFather one, or just a cheap tea urn or pot for your stove.

The GF recirculates throughout the mash. Once the mash has finished, you need to lift the grain basket to drain. At this time you need to pour a few litres of hot water through to rinse the grains. Not sure volume, but not a lot. And the exact temperature for a single sparse is not critical.

some NZ and Aussie G/f owners have sparged with tap water via a combi boiler. :thumb:

Some have even sparged with cold(er) water

the recirculating mash will dissolve most of the mash sugars anyway so its more of a grain final rinse than a sparge which is more about dissolving the high sugar concentrate surrounding the grain post mash, personally ive simply jugged the full sparge/rinse volume onto the top of the grain in the malt tube, paying zero attention to a flow rate in or out :)

if you ring the sales desk im sure they will reserve a unit @ todays price with a nominal deposit to secure the deal.. Its got 2 be worth a call to see if its a serious consideration.

Hi, thanks for pointing this out - this company does not have an account with us. I think it's very likely to be a scam and I will get in touch with Amazon.

All our UK Grainfather stockists are specialist homebrew retailers - should you come across products offered by others, please be very careful as it's likely to be fraudulent.

Thanks
Mark

Now selling under a different name "Ollies Trolleys"
How and why are Amazon not doing anything about this ?
Thanks for the reply Mark, my GF arrives tomorrow complete with the sparge heater and coat and i feel like a kid at Christmas
regards

I guess they abide by Amazon rules. What happens if you ask for it to be delivered to an address other than the uk? I guess they have to honour it then
