The Dublin Agreement ended when Brexit was fully enacted and no replacement was agreed.

The position is further exacerbated by the short sighted position that means you cannot apply for asylum unless you are physically in the UK, its utter madness we have no meaningful return agreements and this ridiculous policy

My children and grandchildren have been abused: they can no longer freely work or study or live abroad, my (French) wife has been battered by idiotic zenophobes who after 42 years of working and paying taxes in England are more than happy to send her on her way.

I also dont want this thread to turn into another Brexit debate we have ahead a few and they always ended up in a flame war and either closed or removed altogether.

Non of the parties as far as i know has said they want to take us back in so can we leave it there and move on, thanks.

SNP have, as have Plaid and The Greens. It's very much a part of the conversation of the general election whether or not you, or Labour and The Tories (and Reform for that matter) want to talk about it.

‘Stop the boats’, much like ‘get Brexit done’, is a simplistic popularist chant to appeal to people who like to sum up massively complex situations with three simple words.
Migrants arriving here via small blow-up boat are outnumbered 20:1 by people migrating here with a visa.
The issue with illegal migration is the lack of proper processing, this was a political decision by the Tories to create a divisive issue out of nothing.
Processed efficiently these people could be contributing to society by utilising their skills working and paying taxes and those whose claims are not founded could be legally returned without all the current nonsense. Even if the next government do manage to kick the home office into gear the damage that has been done to the mental and physical health of these people is immense.

Very well put my thoughts exactly this is situation created not sure if deliberately or just through sheer ignorance and ineptitude, but not just the Tory's but successive governments have driven down wages and morale across the entire civil service and now the cracks are showing.

The decision to remove all legal means of asylum from outside the UK created the rise in numbers, then the number and grade of civil servants was reduced to process applications, both lead back to very poor judgement by the government and failure to address the real underlying issues

Pains me to say this but this is not a true representation of public opinion, the Tory's should have more seats than this.

This x1000.

The very wealthy have more money than they can spend, so they buy assets. Houses, stocks etc. That then earns them money that they can spend on more assets. It prices out the poorest from asset owning at first, but as more things get hoovered up it squeezes out more and more people. It's modern feudalism, and needs to be discouraged, but the UK tax system currently encourages it:

• A higher rate tax payer will pay nearly 50% income tax and national insurance on each extra pound they earn.
• A wealthy person that owns many houses or shares will only pay 25% (or even 20%) capital gains tax, and that's only on the profit of the asset when it's sold.

The only way to discourage it is through a wealth tax on excess assets. Of course you exclude primary residence, pension etc because those aren't optional, and then you decrease income tax to better reward people for being productive.

Who predicted they are going to win lots of seats they will get a lot of votes not seats.
