Just as a side note I looked at the Curry's essential fridges last year as I needed a new beer fridge for the garage. Buried in the product details it stated that the fridge needed to he kept in a room with central heating and not to be used in anywhere like a shed or garage. Don't know where you plan to put it but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Thanks. I think most say this. Certainly when I was on store yesterday only a few freezers said they were safe for outdoor use. I do wonder if this was the cause of my 2 previous fridges dying but my fermentation fridge works ok all year round.

Freezers are also the same so if you are making a keezer check the spec. I bought a freezer for the garage last years and it had a great big sticker saying it will operate in a room upto minus 15c so it must be happening more than ever with fridges and freezers in cold garages

Could be. I guess I don't really need the fridge on during the winter, just leave the door ajar and it should be cold enough

I love those videos! Have you seen the one with a smeg fridge too?

I have - excellent again. I used the other kegerator build video though as I didn't bother with secondary regulators. I can't be bothered to faff around with different CO2 levels in my beers. I don't like heavily carbonated beers so am happy with one set level regardless of beer style (my bad).

I agree with not faffing about with different levels - however I’m the opposite and like all mine pretty fizzy

You can often make the drain tube slightly larger to allow a couple of 3/16 gas lines in if your secondaries and Co2 are outside of the fridge.

From my own enquiry here I solved storage issue with a gumtree chest freezer ( v cheap) and an Ink Bird temp controller. I put crates of bottles as you see, but your kegs would easy fit. Works really well, and as the chest is so well insulated it uses next to no elec View attachment 67050

I wouldn't rule one out but it would piss the boss off. Unfortunately they are also hard to get hold of.

Went yesterday and the model wasn't there. Staff didn't know the internal measurements

I was speaking to a local white goods supplier who have a show room near me. He said places tend not to put chest freezers on display due to the space taken up compared to the profit margin. I kind of get it - a £250 chest freezer probably takes the space of £1000-worth of fridge/freezer. It's annoying though when you want to see a chest freezer to gauge internal dimensions.
