And despite all of that, Westminster seems determined to hold on to this parasite. I know the current government is an absolute shambles, but surely shedding a section of the electorate that costs a fortune and gives you very little electoral backing would be an easy win for them.

Odd behaviour.
You're thinking about it the wrong way. Politicians, at their heart* are after power**, and the more power the better.
By removing Scotland from the union, it diminishes their power. It's not about the chances of them getting the power, it's about the total amount of power up for grabs

*Except for the very few like Corbin who are there to make the world a better place
**And by 'power' I mean 'kickbacks from lobbying groups'

The 6 counties of Ireland will hopefully be next 🙏

What's Brian May got to do with it? Is he Scots? Which country?

Who knows. I always seem amused when one pops their head above the parapet wishing ill will on a country and its people for daring to suggest they no longer feel the political union is in their interest.

That's what he did. Saying that it would take 20 years to join the EU is a made up number.
Indeed, it was about the location where the figure had been extracted from, not the person owning the location the position from where the figure had been extracted 😂

A free pass for "I'm not Scottish(now deleted)" though?
As i have said more times than i have had hot dinners if you want the mods to look at something report it we don't spend all day reading every post in every thread. i will now remove that as it was uncalled for and is likely to lead to more trouble later.

TBH when i read the first post in the thread i wondered how long this would stay open, i had the same thought when i read the recent Irish thread that went on for many pages with no trouble at all i was hoping this would do the same.

I dont have a real problem with any of it. Just found it very odd that one specific thing was removed. It's a contentious topic, personally were I you I'd just let it run its course. But having removed something that innocuous, the uppity Jocks among us would probably fairly expect the borderline xenophobia to also fall under the axe.

Harsh but I'll concede -your board, you rules. I actually live in Wales, have a daughter who has represented Wales at sport and to Grandchildren born in Wales - but I'm not Welsh. I'm not a foreigner hater either - I speak two foreign languages fluently and another couple to a reasonable level. I apologise if my terminology breached the rules, but one of the freedoms of speech is to stimulate debate and potentially cause offence (though not intended) and for that I feel no apology is required, therefor none is offered.
