I am planning my next ale and may reference it to the sad demise of Newcastle United FC. Initial thoughts are for a "Relegation Ale"

Thinking of a thinish stout( black and white ) and the description would be:

A little lacking in body, goes down well with a bitter finish

For the first time ever with a beer I am hoping it comes back up soon!

PS Best name for a beer in this region is a local ale by Three kings Brewery, a stout called "Dark side of the Toon"!

Any ideas for a beer and description that may fit your team's season?
_(mackems excluded obviously!)

Red devil pale ale - promising on paper and starts off bright and hoppy. New hops add interest and complexity you've been missing in other beers. Flavour and 'spark' starts fading after the first month. Gets progressively worse as the honeymoon period ends until you say to yourself 'maybe it was like this from the start? Surely it can't get any worse' as the hops - which started out so promising - fade away into a distant memory. Then, before you know it, the keg is blown and spurts out a frothy, yeasty mess in a glass. Time to start planning the next beer..

How about the beer in my avatar the Mags?

A lager for my team - "Sam Allardyce Sunderland Lager" after the boss(It's the first thing that came into my head and sounds nothing like Sam Adams Boston Lager)

In fact I think I might call the American pseudo lager I have planned that - just have to hope he's not been sacked before it's ready!

Mebbies a stout using a weiss yeast for the black and white?

I'm still too gutted to even make jokes about them  and I wouldn't put too much money on them coming back at first try either... I reckon we'll be there a couple of seasons at least.

At least I can go and see them at Deepdale next season.!

Just pray they dont go the way of Portsmouth ;)

Louis Van Gaal's Delusional Ale:

Mash the hops, boil the grist, use sugar for the fermentation period and yeast to prime.

If it turns out well claim you were a genius and it's all part of the philosophy; if it fails then blame the ingredients.

Glasgow Rangers New Team Ale

A brand new version of a previously successful ale, a shadow of its former self but still desperately clinging on to past glories.
Showing plenty of promise up front and will hopefully pay the bills this time around.
;)
