Morning all,

This is the first attempt at brewing beer, although I have made some wines in the past. I was given a Sundew pack as a gift and will start it off in the next few days.

My question relates to priming. From searching I can see its best/easier to batch prime rather than do the bottles individually. How long would you leave in the Barrel before transferring to bottles ans will there be any sediment fallout at the bottom of the bottles? I would like to avoid this if possible?

Batch prime into your barrel and then into bottles from your barrel at the same time.
There will probably be a little sediment in the bottles but if you pour them carefully it should stay where it is.
I'd give it a couple of weeks in the FV before priming even if the fermentation has stopped after a week, this will help to reduce sediment.

Would you Rack it off the sediment to another container, then let it rest in there prior to priming it in the Barrel?

I do but usually in conjunction with dry hopping after the primary has substantially finished.
In my experience doing it this way certainly reduces the yeast carry over into bottles.
The alternative is to leave it longer in the primary FV.
 
Dissolve the sugar in a little boiling water, pour it into a separate, sterilised container, rack the beer onto it, cover it and prepare your bottles/keg. Then give the beer a gentle stir with a sterilised spoon, and rack into bottles/keg.

To minimise sediment, leave the beer in the Primary FV for 2 to 3 weeks, and put it somewhere cold for the last few days.
