Hi all,

I have a few questions that I'd like answering.

1. Bit of an odd one, but has anyone used sweets to prime bottles? I was eating some of my daughter's dolly mixture earlier and my mind started wondering....

2. Can I use the trub from a brew for anything? Say instead of yeast when baking bread? Or using it to start a new brew? If so how much to use?

3. When bottling, do you recommend syphoning into a clean FV before bottling or straight into bottles? If using a 2nd FV, would you leave it to clear/settle some more? Say a couple of days?

Appreciate your help.

Stan

Not sure about number 1, but they may have preservatives. Number 2, yes you can reuse the yeast in your next brew. You should wash it first, but if it's fresh when you use it, you can just chuck it in. As for number 3, I usually rack to a fresh bucket and then bottle. Assuming you have siphoned it off carefully.

Thanks Bob. I may try a couple of bottles on my current brew WRT 1. Will report back.
