stephenmanuel;564427I do not understand why some people buy 5l kegs of beer to get a "free" keg. They are only £7.44 empty.[/QUOTE said:
Maybe to get 5 litres of reasonable beer for £7.50 or less!

Aint no party like a Party Star Tap party !!!

I've been thinking about this. Loads of us want to try these Klarstein contraptions but we are all put off by the unclear instructions and lack of reviews. What do we need to do to get them on board as a sponsor or something, or contact them to see if they can give us machines to test our and/or discounts? Is this something the Forum approves of? Do we need a mod/admin's permission to contact them on behalf of the Forum?

If these things are good then they'll probably get a lot of business out of it!

Mick if you would like to contact them as a forum member and explain your concerns about their instructions go for it, if you would like to mention their system has been discussed in the forum (give them a link to the posts) and that the forum allows sponsors to advertise here that would be great.

Emailed them this morning. Asked them to clarify a few things, told them about the forum (pointed them to this thread) and sponsorship, and did a bit of a "don't ask don't get" about a discount or a couple of machines for a comp and/or testing.

But surely, the point of home brew is to drink the stuff we make not cheap, supermarket, sanitised, filtered beer just for the sake of a bit of kit? Anyway, I can make a much better beer for much less than £7.50 for 5 litres. That's £30 for 20 litres! Wow! I can make such good beer with that budget. Think of the malt, hops and yeast you can get for that kind of money.

Nah, just buy the empties which are purpose made for the job is my advice.

Some people like some of the ales. I like some of Glamorgan brew companies beers and they sell 2 kegs for £30. For me that is a no brainier, especially since they arrange to meet me when they deliver to weather spoons so no delivery charge

We can't get party kegs over here but they sell the beer in sanke mini kegs for 6,000 yen... That's like 40 .... For 10 liters. Pricey but then when you think of it, you get a bulletproof 10 liter keg. Have to get the couplers but there not too bad.
I know this is a thread for party kegs but anyone use the sanke for personal use? Seems like a little extra work but reading up on party keg cleaning, kind of looks the same.

Just seen Hobgoblin kegs in Morrison's at Market Drayton for £15. They should also have OSH but that looked to be sold out.

I know the top bung needs to be replaced with the grey 2 part ones for future party star use, but can you bodge the in-place one to use a party star on the keg initially?

Just started my first HB keg with the party star and I have done something wrong. When do I need to inject the co2 and how much?

I poured 2 pints and released some co2. 45 minutes later I poured another pint, no issues lively beer but went to pour a 4th and no flow. Had to remove the party star and use the normal tap. Luckily we will drink it all tonight. What went wrong?

Hi did you prime the keg when you filled it?

I maybe over prime then as i get around 3 pints out with no gas needed then i turn the gas on around 2/3rds of the way with no further problems
