Howdy Folks,

Just been planning the next brew and something has just occurred to me...

I create my water profile but never take into consideration the campden tablet I always add to my water to remove Chlorine. Does the chemical make up of a tablet change the water profiles ? How do we adjust ??

It might be there is nothing in a campden tablet that really effects the water profile. I can't find much info on the net or forum on that one...

Thanks

Yes it does but not really enough to worry about. According to Bru'n Water one tablet in 35L will add about 4 ppm sodium, 6 ppm chloride and 16 ppm sulphate.

brun 'n'water... thats what ive been using for water profiles and spent ages search the net :(

thanks though good to know it's not massive

Good to know as I'd added half a tablet with my last batch despite my LHB shop owner advising me I didn't have to as I had all treatments

But what I noticed by using Jim's beer kit advice was the first thing was to get rid of was chlorine regardless
