My mate just got back to me. £7.50 for the wood per crate.

That'll do nicely :D

But you can get 20 bottle plastic multitrip crates for less, brand new...

(They don't like the tall 500ml bottles though, just the stumpy ones)

I did try. The best I could find was plastic folding crate things from B&Q. They were £11 each though. I also have 2 Irn-Bru crates that hold 12 apiece.

My mate popped round with the wood tonight so that's 3 of them made. Because of the extra height I'm going to need to add a little bit more wood to the design as the gap in the centre is too big and I don't want to worry about bottles falling out. He's going to pick me up some more the next time he is in. They look fantastic though, even if I do say so myself :D

Why would you compromise with plastic crates when you can have custom wooden ones?

He's been on here now and again...

I think I paid 6 quid a crate + a tenner delivery...

Those won't hold wine bottles, or champagne bottles (actually just thicker wine bottles that I have) and as you said earlier they won't even take tall 500s.

If I was making the crates to hold 20 stubby beer bottles then I would have been half the amount for the wood. It's the custom nature of my crates that I'm paying for really.

For example, the dimensions of my crates are 600mm x 415mm x 350mm :)

Came across some plastic crates on eBay which look ideal. You can find them here: http://tinyurl.com/cgrq25h.

They look a snip at £5 plus delivery. Am I missing something?

£8.50 for 12 bottles, and not enough of a price break in postage for my liking.

Those are the crates I was looking at for ages. I've made my crates for less than £8.50 each, they look mint and they all hold 24 bottles each... minimum (They can actually take 30 with the partitions off).

so you are Titus A....... :P :P

hope the beers crap... and you suffer....

only joking...
