Stick to the local lagers and spirits way cheaper.I got married there 4 years ago and the local Lager was £1.10 a pint were as Carling was was £2.90 a pint.the lager is Keo if I remember right, even the my old man liked it and he's a bitter drinker.
No it was still the Cyprus pound then. They didn't want to go into the Euro they wanted to stay cyprus pound and stay away from the Euro.i no a family that's just come back from Cyprus and reckon some of the bars and eating places will do you a good deal if your cheeky enough to Barter
I had a week in Portaras few years back, it's OK, typical med holiday resort. The local beer Keo was acceptable but not anything special. Get around the island, lovely place.
On a walk once from Penera (sp?) Bay to Protaras, there is a church top of a hill which was nice, but what was even nicer was that when I came back down the hill along the road a bit was a little bar, and it was hot,so I went for a drink, and lo and behold, there was Old Speckled Hen in their fridge ! Not ideal, but any port in a storm !!
