Hi Folks,

The September beer competition for Norwich Amateur Brewers will be on the theme of 'fruit'.

I'm toying with the idea of doing something with cucumber and lemonbalm.

Not got much further yet.......

So, I'm thinking of a saison - light and refreshing. Not too much in the way of hops, but them soaking a grated cucumber + lemonbalm in gin for a couple days and adding it to the FV towards the end..

What do you folks think?

Cheers

Martin

I do think it's a bad call, but why not give it a whirl!? In particular I can't see the cucumber working. Lemon balm, yes.

I'm not the biggest fan of fruit beers but how about:
Kiwi wheat
Apricot pale ale
Pomegranate Saison

Saw a recipe for peach pilsner earlier. Good luck!

I'll gladly share the recipe with you if you like but one thing I will say is "never, never, ever put cucumber in a beer" I had one from thornbridge a while ago and it's then only beer I've ever poured down the sink. DON'T DO IT!
