There's nothing new, revolutionary or enlightened in Dave Heath or Brulosophy videos. They are just flipping the concept of marginal gains into marginal sacrifices to create something adequate and fault free. There's nothing wrong with that if it's your goal. The tell is in the comments section of the video, Dave Heaths response to anyone questioning this video, is to meet with the stock answer of 'It comes down to personal taste', as he can't refute the arguments, as there are advantages to not making these sacrifices, by following proven practices that are technically correct.
A bit like deciding you only want to finish a marathon, not win it. Still an incredible achievement, but you could get away with training less hard, eating less well, a putting in a bit less energy on the day.
