Ok, thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated. All i need to do now is find a local supplier. The nearest one is only offering gas to those currently with a cylinder due to Covid
. I'll give them a wide berth for sure. Cheers. One bit of advice, avoid like the plague Gas-UK. Co. UK based in Merseyside that offer nationwide specialist delivery.
It is not specialist delivery they use plain brown box to conceal the cylinders and use DPD courier. (Surprised that DPD even touch them, especially when full, but its boxed to conceal contents)
Price wise for a small 3.5kg cylinder you are paying £50 deposit refundable, £30 carrier charge to get it back to them and £54 for the gas. So all in £84. The deposit and return courier charge is in very small print in the customer contract you agree to.
Currently use a local firm, 7.5kg free delivery as they pass me regularly, £50 refundable deposit and £15 for the co2
Thanks mate, I'll have a look. I'm still having no joy accessing a co2 cylinder..Hi Dmac. I am new to homebrewing. My first kit (Muntons Docklands Porter) is bubbling away nicely and I'm waiting delivery of a corny keg set up kit from BewKegTap. If you havent ordered one or need any help I can recommend speaking to them - they are really helpful. Like you, I am interested to know what most folk do re CO2 cylinders.
Cheers.
Thanks mate, I'll have a look. I'm still having no joy accessing a co2 cylinder..
I found a company in Saltash who I’ve got some CO2 off of. 6.35kg for £25~ With £55 deposit for the bottle. Delivery is £10 or you can collect. Austen Knapman they are called. Thanks mate, I'll have a look. I'm still having no joy accessing a co2 cylinder..
Give T&J Installations a buzz. Can anyone recommend anywhere in buckinghamshire pls?
Give T&J Installations a buzz.
I'm in Bicester and they delivered to my door (free), no rental, no deposit, £23 for a 6kg cylinder
Same: £23 - Effectively you're only paying for the CO2thanks mate- will do! Do you know how much are they asking for refills?
Great, thanks!Same: £23 - Effectively you're only paying for the CO2
I also checkd there wasn't a hidden charge for refils or returns at the end. There isn't.
So £23 all in for each bottle, just return it to them at the end.
I’m in Reading and I’m looking for a gas supply have you got contact number stillAh crikey there's one that delivers around here (Berkshire) that's reasonable priced and no silly deposit.
I've texted my mate for the name.
I just get mine from the local pub.. I'm still on my first bottle and the landlord won't take any money from me
I asked him when we were on a bike ride so didn't get the number.I’m in Reading and I’m looking for a gas supply have you got contact number still
It looks like I'll be using Austen Knapman (Adams gas) in Saltash mate. It seems to be the only place that doesn't charge a monthly rental. Gonna go for the 6.5kg bottle, 70 odd quid for deposit and 25 for the gas. Not cheap but I'm hoping it'll last me quite a while...Hi, I' also from Plymouth and i'm having a hard time sourcing CO2 in anything bigger than Sodastream, as its damn pricey! Please do let me know if you find anything in the area. I am considering getting a load of empty Sodastream bottles and buying some dry ice perhaps. You can get around 10Kg of dry ice for about £30, admittedly not the safest method but could be very cheap! 10 Kg of dry ice should do 22 bottles if my maths right, there's a tutorial on Youtube. Of course the hardest and most costly part would be buying 22 empty bottles.
Ahh yeah sorry guys just looked again and Victor is right at Adams Gas it is 75 quid plus 11 quid for vat n that is for deposit and gas. Ordered a 19L reconditioned corny keg from Malt Miller, along with a mini mash kit and a Pint365 beer engine. Got my big stockpot ready for a few mini (part grain) mash brews. Also bought two kits from Dark Rock Brewing, Shipyard IPA and Proper Job. I've brewed a few WoW's lately (Rose wine) and my intention is to carbonate some of them in 1 litre coke pet bottles using the gadget that fits the pet bottles. Really looking forward to getting started...Yeah I went with adams 55 for 6kg and 25 refill ...
