I pitch direct onto the previous batches slurry and I keg that batch the evening before. I don't dry hop in the FV and pressure ferment, yeast slurry is left at 5psi after the transfer. No idea if that's relevant or makes a difference but its what I do and hasn't failed me yet. I do this 4 times and then dump clean and restart...why 4? No idea, again this routine suits me and works so why deviate?

I have been doing a few trials.
I am happy now that any yeast dried or slurry benefits from a bit of aeration and whipping seems to be better that stones.

Balloon whisk is OK. But this seems to be the winner.

Is is over and above draining your boiler into your FV at height? Mines about a foot higher than the highest level the wort gets to in the FV, which is probably two foot from the bottom of the FV and I get so much foam that I assume it's all well aeriated. Do you think it would also benefit from a damn good thrashing?
