Can you still buy those little hammer on cappers? I've got one in a box somewhere. Great fun.

You can -

The plastic capper you get from Wilkos is just crap.

I've got this capper and it works great and if you line the bottles up on the floor and drop on a cap as you're filling another bottle you can walk above them and cap just as fast as a bench capper. It does do Hobgoblin bottles but you notice it starts at a shallower angle.
Cheers drunkula
I ordered this one this morning.
Im hoping to get this by friday.

Remember to put a little silicone grease or oil in the slots on the side. You'll be surprised the difference it makes.
Is this a way of lubing it up for the rim?(Scuz the kenneth williams 'how rude' face question)

I've also got a million year old Boots twin handle capper and it works great. A little rusty, but perfectly functional. That is until I had a bench capper bought for me for Christmas, the Boots torture machine will now go back into the museum.

It came but id forgot to leave a keep safe note on my door. Cant pick it up till monday. The depression set in quickly.
Luckily it surpassed when i realised i still had pet bottles.

I used the wilko one for ages and it got better with age, never broken a bottle and it can do the Wychwood bottles no problem I thought it was my technique getting better but them tried someone else's new one and its no good compared to an old one thats loosened up.

I did notice it was leaving those dimple prints in the centre of the cap aparr from the odd few. Sure theyre airtight all the same

They're definitely alright. I like the caps with the dimples but some people have a crying fit over them. They happen when the collar on the bottle is quite large - so Witchwood bottles get a huge one, Koppaberg are flat.

I did another strafing run on some bottles last night. 8 capped in 18 seconds. 2.25s per cap. Rah!

Sorry i meant to put it 'wasnt' leaving dimples apart from odd few.
But overall i felt a lot more comfortable wuth this capper.

Cheers mate

Dimples are good. When they go from being inners to outers I know my carbonation is done. Not all dimples in a batch will pop out but some will and that helps me know that all is well.
