Calling all Klarstein Owners.

I'd be grateful of any feedback on Klarstein products, in particular the Maiscshfest Boiler Mash Kettle. Any info on quality and reliability would be appreciated. Thanks.

Our homebrew club was thinking of using club funds to buying a communal All-in-one system that members could borrow, either to do bigger batches or try all grain brewing.

I got one of the above in December.

I sing its praise to be honest. I have compete 3 brew with it and its great for the money brilliant. Build quality is good and no issues I have came across. Heats up quickly and holds a mash temp well.

I have added a hop buzzaka which has helped.
Baught a cheep pump from ebay and connected this up todo fly sparing again verry easy and has worked very well for me.

I think there was a 10% discount code floating about somewhere.

Looks like a decent bit of kit. The info states 3000w for boiling and 1500W for keeping warm. Is 3000w to much for a rolling boil and would 1500w be enough for a rolling boil. I have one of the old Ace BIAB boilers and I find that 2500w is too much for a rolling boil.

1500w does boil but not realy good enough for a full 25l

3000w certainly gives it a good rolling boil, never had any issues.

"60 day cooling off period“ I'd have thought the immersion chiller was more efficient than that. :thumb1:

Looks excellent for kettle souring or sour mashing.

No restock date yet. It originally said 31/01/18 on the website so I ordered one on Tuesday. They emailed to say it was out of stock and offered a refund. I left it on back order so will keep you posted if I hear anything.

I also thought it looked good for kettle souring as should be able to hold the wort at 30 odd degree temp for a few days and the lid looks as if it is fairly well sealed to minimise air disturbance. I don't really want any of the souring bacteria neer my regular brew kit.

It looked a great piece of kit by the way if you can get one that doesn't leak!

Great. I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.

I think we are going to hold off for a bit, partly because an online retailer has offered us a GF to demo and also there a few new products hitting the market later in the year, such as kegkingdom Brew Butler. Its looking like the market may get a bit more competitive. Not much of a rush for us, the longer we wait the more money we have to pay with.

Thanks for the input everybody, nice to know the Klarstein is an option worth considering.

If that for real I am having one at that price, its been discussed many time on here that it is the same kit as the ACE brewer.

Having just spoken to the UK distributor, it turns out that they had been sending me emails following the return of the faulty product but they were going straight into the spam folder of my email directory. :blush:

Anyway, replacement was dispatched yesterday so fingers crossed that one holds water.

It turns out they were actually very responsive to my emails - so my opinion of their customer service has improved significantly :thumb:

My take on it was that it was somewhere in between the ACE boiler and the full on brewing machine. So you get the benefit of the grain basket and chiller, but you don't get the recirculation or the temp control that allows programmable stepped mashes etc. For the price (I got it for < £200 in the sales immediately after Christmas) it seemed like a good compromise.

It was dispatched yesterday (presumably from Germany as that was where the previous one came from) so will hopefully arrive in the next few days. If so i will be aiming to get a brew done with it over the weekend.
