Try Get Er Brewed in NI – they are also resellers for Speidel and have a much better customer-centric ethos than BrewUK ever did.

I used to get occasional Braumeister add-ons and upgrades from BrewUK until mid-February this year when they took 14 days to quote me £2500, all-in, for a bundle of Braumeister bits (most of which were unlisted on the BrewUK website). I had calculated these to be around £1900. I simultaneously asked Get Er Brewed for an all-in price for the same items and they came back to me after only two days with a price of... around £1900.
Thats a shame, I had opposite experience, me and my mate ordered two braumeisters at once with a few parts, we tried a few places to see if anyone could do us a deal as the order combined for both of us was £3.5k. I was dealing with Greg back in 2021 and he had the sharpest pencil and done the best deal v the rest so he got the order and service was perfect really for that order. Our two experiences are probably reflective of the change in who is running it.

I thought they had a link up with Brouwland on the continent and I put the better deal when buying the BM down to that. Not sure if that is right or not.

I successfully bought a new Braumeister 20L 2021 plus various bits and pieces from BrewUK last summer and Antony arranged for the items to be directly drop-shipped to me from Speidel. The sale was handled seamlessly - and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, when I requested a further price this February, according to a current BrewUK employee I spoke to, Anthony had been dismissed in February. No wonder their guesstimate for my new order was wildly over the top. Presumably Anthony did his job properly and conscientiously...

Website is now coming with Youngs-Brew UK?
I used to speak to Dan there,he was extremely helpful (think he was also dismissed quite a while ago now).
I was also incorrect (apologies) when i said i had not used them since lockdown(memory fade). In January this year i bought some massively discounted Ss Brewtech gear- a 10 gallon brite tank chiller coil, with neoprene jacket and lifting handles for a paltry £56 (rrp £124)and some discounted EKG hops.

Brewuk-Youngs is a Google search result trying to take you to a sub page, of Youngs products, on the brewuk website. The website is still down "under maintenance" and ANY sub page gives a "404" error.

Looks very much that the new address Suite 204 Warner House 123 Castle Street Salisbury Wiltshire SP1 3TB on 24 February 2022 is a mailing address looking back over the thread where people have got massively discounted items that to me equals fire sale.

I heard from someone involved in the industry a couple of weeks back that brew uk outdoor be the next to go. The change of address probably means that eventually the company will wind up a this would be sad for our Hobby less competition equals higher prices generally.

The main website must be offline and the current holding page that brew.co.uk now points to is hosted on another server.

I know it doesn’t help in terms of having payed money out and potentially not getting your order. But I got fed up of waiting for bac brewing stock so ordered direct with BAC brewing on a credit card I knew done a decent exchange rate and 0%foreign transaction fee.

Service was first rate, €35 delivery for some filter discs but was with me in 48 hours and didn’t get stung for any import duty. Ordered with a mate so split the postage which helped.

Anyway hope brewuk ain’t gone and you get your order and aren’t out of pocket. 👍🏻
im unsure which disks to go for, id rather have the same size as originals, but from the bac site..

The filter disc with 0.9 holes is slightly smaller than the original.

The filter disk with 1.5 holes is slightly larger than the original

Both those statements can be true. If 0.9 is slightly smaller than the origionals then 1.5 has to be more than slighter bigger. what ones did you go for? any ideas what the originals are? i may just order them from. spiedal.

The ones from Speidel are made from wire mesh and fray at the edges, and the central hole can easily become misshapen in my experience. The ones from Bac Brewing are made from perforated SS sheet instead and I eventually bought these from BrewUK, but I don't know the size of the holes. However, they work vey well.

I went for the 1.5mm ones. I haven’t used them yet so can’t say. But having read a few bits off the braumeister forum, from what I can make out the consensus seems to be 1.5mm, but as I say I haven’t tried them as yet. You can still cut yourself on the edge if you aren’t careful but they are what they are and won’t fray.

I’ve had my originals about 5 years now and although they have frayed a bit im happy with them. But since I put them in the dishwasher they have discoloured badly so I’m looking to replace. I did Have a bespoke one a made a few years back , with a spec as recommended on the BM forum but grains crept though that so I just went back to the originals.

When is your next brew? I’ll be interested on how you get on!
