Luckily I now brew outside, as yeah, there was wort everywhere.... But yeah, you get it. lol

If you like a good IPA, try the DIYDog Elvis Juice. If you don't like grapefruit, skip that, if you do then add some Malt Miller cold pressed grapefruit extract 1ml per litre. Recipe calls for orange too, but I forgot... Anyway, it's absolutely gorgeous, with or without the grapefruit! Adjust for an efficiency of 60% when you do your first few recipes, as odds are that's about what you'll hit. I'm hitting about that myself with my new setup as well. Good luck.

Nice one, I’ll definitely give that a bash, going to try the Amarillo smash in that book as a first try on it but I’ll definitely try that when I get to grips with what I’m doing a bit more. Thanks for all the advice

Yeah, I know the one you mean. I seem to remember basing a few brews on that grist, just different hopping, and I may have tweaked the grist a bit... lol

Yeah, fairly decent, you don't want too much for a basic pale ale. If you want a bit more malt flavour, it's simple enough to swap in a bit of something like some Munich.

I'm pretty sure the pale ale/ IPA style is what I like now, I do like a stout. Guinness original is a lovely drink, saying that I did do the Cooper's stout kit a while back. I've still got 24 bottles in my shed which is very unusual for me. Don't know what went wrong, I done the coffee thing a lot of people do bit mines got an almost metallic taste to it and it don't seem to be going. Might be going down the sink to free the bottles up, but I'm hoping I'll try one some time in the future and it's come good but I'm not holding out much hope for it. I do want to try doing the brown porter at some time, but I be sticking to the pale ales for the time being. I know I like em and I can get to know my hops by changing them up
