Sorry if this has been discussed before. My fridge doesn't allow for a traditional airlock so I've used a bit of tube going to some boiled and cooled water in a sterilised bottle.

Is the tube too long? Should it be a sealed connection to the bottle?

It looks like some of the foam has travelled down into the bottle looking at the colour of the water.

Cheers.

It's fine, you have had a blow off which is what it is designed for, you don't need a seal on the bottle.
The tube length is fine just so long as it stays in the water.
I use a blow off tube usually and had one blow off like this, no infection can climb up the tube.

Too much water in the bottle, half fill it and put the tube to the bottom this will allow any foam to collect in the bottle rather then make a mess of the fridge.
