Hi I have just got a new regulator for my co2 bottle and want to know the easiest way to connect the 3/8th gas line to the regulator i.e what adaptor/connector and size ?
You could use John Guest fittings or a barbed fitting. I've used both in the past, John Guest fittings are easier, barbed connectors feel a bit more safe in that they won't leak. That said I've never had a John Guest fitting leak either.
Could be. I don't have my regulator to hand to compare as I'm not currently kegging but I'm pretty sure I had a similar set up. Otherwise you might find a more suitable barbed fitting easier to find and once it's on, you can forget about it.
Right, the fog is clearing. I had a micromatic regulator with a barbed fitting that the gas line went straight onto and then a 6 way manifold and each of those outs had barbed fittings that gas line attached to and went off to each keg. What regulator do you have?
That barb fitting is the gas out to your keg or manifold if you have multiple taps/kegs.
mine is just a weldgas it looks like yours but the barb they have provided is a little larger than yours I have managed to get the gas line onto the barb but had to put it in boiling water to soften it up and force it on as a temp measure but it was very hard to get on and did not go right to the end of the barb. I need a better fixing long term as I will just turn the gas off every time incase it blows off
Hmm weird. You might be able to remove the fitting to swap it for another smaller barbed fitting. Should be 1/4" BSP fitting unless they made it weird, awkward and non-standard.
