I expect this has been asked before but has anyone used Grolsch bottles for storing beer? I usually use a king keg but when we go camping it would be nice to take my own beer :D

I bottle all my beer nowadays. Grolsch style bottles are the Rolls Royce of the bottle world.

Grolsch bottles are king! I have about 200 of them and saves a lot of hassle at bottling time (although to be fair I tend to Keg into cornies most of the time I do bottle a little as a typical batch is more than a cornie can hold). Just remember to ask for them back if you give any away!

Yep, I use the swing top bottles, some of them are the 450ml Grolsch bottles and some are 500ml swing top bottles from my local homebrew shop. Wilkinsons now sell swing top bottles that are pretty good (although they only have the clear ones at my local wikinsons at the moment). Don't get the ones from The Range, they don't hold much pressure and leak from the top seal.

Thanks for info guys, much appreciated

Looks like having to chat up my local publican :drink:

Those swing tops are nice for special occasion. :D

However bottling is helped greatly with a good bench capper. I made one a few years back and haven't looked back, any size or shape of bottle and no misfires. Still not got round to painting it yet.
