asda kettle elements

does anyone know what size hole has to be put in the ss pots to accommodate the elements from the cheap asda kettles :grin:

Would recommend you use a "Tesco" elememt as the "Asda" ones take a fair bit of modifying!
Not going to argue with Tony, but 38mm works.

You are probably right Sean, Ive only used Tesco and Asda so far.
Might get an Argos one as a spare!

has anyone done a how to on earthing these pots, is it sufficent that there is an earthed prong on the element itself or should this somehow be earthed separately to the ss pot
Could this be done with water weld etc.

I would think you wont need to earth the element. drop Muddydisco a pm he may have a better idea he's converted loads of ss pots
