that's a full boiler! I like to have a little bit more 'splash room' than that :lol:

Brew looks good - hope you can get the steam out before it knackers the telly!

Nice recipe - liking the randomness.

For future reference you may also have found the coiled extension reel heating up... usually they state the max rating when wound and it may well be less than your boiler elements. The danger is from heat build up in the coiled cable melting the insulation.

Hope the beer turns out good!

Not looking good on the worktop, but the beer looks good :)

I do the same thing with my hose, push it on the tap and it keeps it out the way.

Yes the worktop has a big heat ring in it, I stupidly didn't think to put anything under the boiler like a place mat or anything! Whoops!!!

Im not sure there is anything I could do about that to fix it? Anyone know of any useful products that might restore the colour? Would T-cut do anything? I know it works well on paintwork to restore colour...

I've not noticed any heat (I've not actually checked though), it's probably best to unwind it in future! Thanks!
 
Also the recaptured yeast is working a treat! I put it in yesterday about 5pm and woke up this morning to it bubbling away like a goodun! :thumb:
 
So I bottled this brew on Saturday 15th September (with 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar in each bottle) and I stored them in the spare room (average temp 20c) for 15 days and then moved them to my storage cupboard till opening one today for a quick snifter...

Now I opened a bottle and there was a bit of a ppssss, but was very disappointed to find literally no carbonation at all...no head and just very flat beer...the beer tastes great, but no fizz at all...

I have some carbonation thats for sure as otherwise there would have been no sound when opening the bottle so should I just wait longer?
 
I would wait, I increaed the carbonation a tad on the last but one brew because the previous one was a bit flat, now the flat one is fine and the newer brew a little on the lively side for me.

1/2 teaspoon per 500ml bottle or 3g per litre if batch priming is my default carbonation for ale now.
 
Thanks CB - I'm not much good at art, could do with a bit of a tart up by somebody with a bit of talent just grabbed some clip art and put some letter son it for now :D
