Best way to connect 3/8th gas line to regulator

You could use John Guest fittings or a barbed fitting. I've used both in the past, John Guest fittings are easier, barbed connectors feel a bit more safe in that they won't leak. That said I've never had a John Guest fitting leak either...

Mini keg vs growler vs cannonball / mini corny

How long do you find your sodastream lasts? Do you carb with the sodastream bottle as well or just dispense? If so, what do you use for carbing?

    I didn't say it .... this time!

You're the one making the claim that he is being paid to lie. I've got no reason to disbelieve him. You obviously do, based on your inside information that he's being paid to lie. I'm quite happy to be corrected. Just to clarify, I'm not making any claim he is trustworthy just that I have no...

I didn't say anyone was getting paid for lying. Or made any other claims.

Looking for ideas for a big brewing rig

Nice! That was basically exactly what I was looking for, or at least a good starting point. Thank you!

    I didn't say it .... this time!

By who? I assume you'll have some solid evidence and citations to back up that claim.

    I didn't say it .... this time!

We haven't left yet. And I find it interesting that everyone is referring to this guy as an "expert" or a "so called expert". Let's look at the cv of John Nelson. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Frederick_Nelson He was chairman of Lloyd's of London, one of the major financial...

Looking for ideas for a big brewing rig

There's four of us who have started brewing together, all on my grainfather. This has been fine and it all works but the resulting 5 litres of beer each probably isn't enough so we're looking for a bigger system. A 1BBL rig would be ideal as we all have vague plans to going commercial in a...

Mini keg vs growler vs cannonball / mini corny

Yeah, the 9L cornies would be ideal if they'd fit in my fridge - a 12v boat fridge - alas not a chance.

    BOC CO2

Those big co2 cylinders are ace. Unless you're a massive alcoholic, drinking every night, a full bottle will last you a year easily.

Mini keg vs growler vs cannonball / mini corny

Didn't know about the cannonball kegs. They look ideal for my kegging requirements at the moment. Not especially cheap as you say but I've got the rest of the gear so would only need a couple of those I'd build a lined wooden box that I could attach my one of my Perlick tap onto and fill up with...

Chilling wort this time of year

Wondered if anyone has any ideas on how to get the wort down to pitching temperature this time of year when the group water temperature is high. I'm currently using a Grainfather and the counter flow chiller. Having been brewing in Australia for several years I should be an expert on this...

    FFS!

    At least you had beer.

What should schools teach kids about sex?

Those are sexual orientations not gender. Gender is an entirely different beast. Figuratively and occasionally literally speaking.

    Cleaning your lines

Yeah, that above. Keep your taps clean, I've occasionally found hop sediment in my taps but the beer lines are fine as long as you keep beer flowing through them!

Buying a fridge to house keg/fermenter

Just checking to see if you've thought about fermentation temperature being much higher than serving temperature of beer? Even for a lager, you'll be fermenting much higher than you would for serving your finished beer. You really need two separate fridges.

    Dispensing your beer...

I've got a couple of Perlick 650SS taps which have flow control. I'd definitely recommend them. Easy to clean, pours great and the flow control works well if you have over-carbed beers.

    Case swap?

Something I was involved with on the home brewing forum in Australia a number of times was a case swap where various people from the forum made a beer and then all got together at some point and everyone took a different beer. You ended up with 20-24 different beers made by everyone, had a bit...

    Grainfather review after 100 brews

That's not too bad. I've got a spare controller from when I bought the new grainfather connect controller. So that'd basically be a "grainbrother" for 250 quid. Although would need the grain basket as well, thinking about it. Hmm.

First hosepipe ban of the summer

You can get fresh wort kits. Same thing as no chill. Exactly the same thing. https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/fresh-wort-beer-kits/
