    What’s this cheeky chappy called?

Inspired by @jjsh question about the correct pronunciation of scone. What do you call this little bundle breadlines. I know it as a teacake. You can have white tea cakes, brown tea cakes and fruit tea cakes. Mrs. Hagrid knows it as a batch?! Photo credit - lovefood

I’ve never been a fan of the clubby nose but I do like additional space to get your hands in!

    Fizzy fermentation

It sounds fine. The yeastie beasties are just a bit excited (obviously they like the taste of maple syrup!) just keep an eye on your bubbler to make sure it’s moving and not blocked and you’ll be fine. If you’re hoping to make a flat wine at the end then it’d be worth looking into making a...

    Nutritional Yeast

Washing is literally what it says on the tin. Taking whatever the medium is (in this case glucose) off and washing the yeast with fresh distilled water. It stops it from fermenting anyfirther. Kveik (a type of Scandinavian beer yeast) go through this process.

    Cooking Wine

Cooking with isn’t blasphemy. Beer and wine are for enjoying. If you enjoy the meal you’ve cooked them then you’re doing it right. I match the wine colour to the meat (and fish) colour. They tend to blend a bit better IMO. Have you tried making your own stock? It’s surprisingly simple and...

    Black Cardamom

Not beer related, so apologies this isn’t particularly helpful in this case, but I use green cardamoms in hot chocolate. 1 seed per cup A dash of nutmeg and cinnamon (actually I say dash, more like a good helping...) Honey to taste A spoon of Horlicks As much chocolate as you fancy And milk...

Worlds best footballer spotted at the Etihad.

I watched him at Anfield last season. His movement on and off the ball is incredible.

Worlds best footballer spotted at the Etihad.

Agreed Falco, City have got the fire power to win games. They just need to stop them going in the other end. However, as a Liverpool fan, I’m happy for them see them spend that sort of money for little gain. I’d love to see their books (and all the businesses they set up, sorry accept tender...

    Wilko kit (don’t shoot me!)

Sorry to drag this thread up again. I’ve picked up some spray malt to add. But how and when do I add it? Do I just mix it in as I’m mixing the kit extract with the water? Thanks again.

Help please! Correct bottles for bottling ?

Although with an alcohol tolerance of 18% it shouldn’t do too much more... in theory.

Regarding the colour change, it’s normal for untreated apples (and pears) and not normally anything to worry about.
