    Corny keg gas issues

Thanks for the link mate. I have several corny's but gave up using them due to the foaming issue. I'll give it another try with this.

Will you be downloading the Government track & trace app?

When it comes to the media: "Believe non of what you hear & only half of what you see" (Richard D Hall). I could go on & on like others but that only makes bad karma. I would like to point out a place that interesting take on things is The UKColumn.org for those seeking the truth of what the...

Anyone else restrict their alcohol intake by doing this...?

It did eventually effect my health (Type 2 diabetes) Which I've managed to reverse with the help of my wife. I would suggest to anyone, " Just because you can, doesn't mean you should". Or risk the consequences.

Anyone else restrict their alcohol intake by doing this...?

It just doesn't seem to have the same effect on me for some reason I don't get hangovers very often either. It gets expensive. Strong beer costs a fortune & I can't stand spirits. My wife was a cheap date though. :D

Anyone else restrict their alcohol intake by doing this...?

Same with me my parents hardly drank compared to me. My dad could give it a good go when he did though. My mum would get drunk on the fumes. :D You's be surprised how the units add up. I shocked myself when I calculated. Mind you that unit total would be on a BBQ when we start at lunchtime, I...

Anyone else restrict their alcohol intake by doing this...?

Yep & I'm normally the most sober one. In fact I even cook fresh pizza or lasagne or BBQ for everyone whilst I'm on. It must be how I metabolise it or something. I think I take after my granddad. When I was a young lad my favourite tipple was snakebite using barley wine. Weak beer seems to...

Anyone else restrict their alcohol intake by doing this...?

Being a big bloke & from generations of heavy drinkers I'm on a hiding to nothing. My granddad used the bath in his house as a fermenter. (Not kidding) He'd sit on the bog with a pint glass in his hand drinking the ale directly from the bath. He had a full time job as a weaver all his life &...

    Wilkinson Apple Cider

Sulphur is normal mate. Just make sure you allow it to sit a while after fermenting to let the yeast clean up after itself. The yeast is having lots of fun and gorging itself.

    Wilkinson Apple Cider

I got two of these in the sale. £7 a pop. I have been reading in the us about Graff and decided to do an all grain with the cider kit. I thought it better to try it with a kit than 23 litres of Aldi apple juice. It should be a laugh anyway whatever happens. :) 1 wilco 40 pint cider kit 3kg...

    cherry wine kits

Wilko's do a cherry wine kit I got one in the sale. The ingredients interestingly have quite a high proportion of elderberry concentrate. It will be interesting how it turns out.:)

    Malt wine?

Try this recipe. I made it for my wife. It has the flavour of a light lager but because of the low hopping it is really full of malt sweetie goodness. :) OG 1040 FG 1008 3 KG Crisp Malt 1 KG Munic Malt 750g wheat malt 500g spray malt in boil. 35g Hallertauer hops start of boil. 5g Hallertauer...

    wilkos pressure keg

Hi guys with these plastic kegs you cannot force carbonate. The only way to get carbonation is to prime with sugar and then use the co2 injectors to keep the carbonation up. The release valve in the cap will not allow the pressures needed for force carbonation. You end up with frothy beer...

Experiment in reducing cold break for those without chillers

Wow Thanks Bribie I understand the process completely now. Do you think the creamy head I am seeing is potential cold break or minerals in the water?

Experiment in reducing cold break for those without chillers

If the cold break and hot break are the same can some please explain how they seem to look different? I always thought they were different things dropping out. It's made a big difference after an hour of natural cooling. Either that or I am getting a better conversion with less crud in the...

I just look at that wasted space in the bottom of the FV and think beer could be their instead.

Experiment in reducing cold break for those without chillers

I only have the luxury of 19 litre boils I use ice water in the bottom of the FV to help cool the wort and pour in the hot wort after about an hour. Then use a cold water bucket to cool it further. I was getting much more break in the FV before doing this. This is the only change I made. It...
