    Rock'N'Lola

Morning all, I managed to win these last night for £26 and am collecting later today. They look perfect for use as heat exchanger vessels. I'll only be needing the one so I'll get back with a better description and photo's later. The uneeded ones will offered up to those who want one at...

    Rock'N'Lola

I ended up making some changes to this one, my mate called and said he loved hobgoblin whilst the mash was on, so I liquored down to around 4.2% and swapped the goldings out for styrians. On the plus side I ended up with lots more beer :-)

    Rock'N'Lola

A friend has asked me to brew a beer for his daughter's christening next month. First time someone has asked me to brew a batch specifically for them. His request was for a darker style beer (ruby to you and me, he hates porters). His Daughter's name is Lola, and he's a bit of rock fan, hence...

    Munky ordinary bitter - 2/3/09

It is a very drinkable light session ale. I think next time I would add a decent steep addition or dry hop in the keg for more aroma (prolly still could). It's malty and bisuity, i'm guessing from the brown malt with a slight butterscoth taste (prolly diacytl? I kegged this on day 7 with...

    Munky ordinary bitter - 2/3/09

rescue attempt today............. Checked and the tap seal on the fv was leaking, and the hydro reading stated it had dropped 1 point in 20 hours. Fixed leak, gently...... oh so gently.... after SWMBO helped me move the FV back into the house (when I noticed the leak) I think the temp drooped...

Got 45L @ 1035 efficiency is up a tad (recircing the mash for 5 mins?) and tun deadspace seems to be nonexistant now due to the pump, which is where I reckon the extra 3 litres came from Hope this one ferments out without any off tastes, at this point it smells lovely and tastes bitter sweet...

has been in the boiler for half an hour now. Pump worked this time and was used to recirc a bit at the end of each batch, so much easier!. No leaks from the boiler on it's 2nd outing. Now to get the FV ready. :)

How do you know your corny is about to run dry....?

Not be to be geeky, but try an atomiser with some water and spray some on your corny. I believe that the water should globule in larger globs (tm) on the filled portion ;) I've seen it happen outside in the summer so p'raps it'd work.

    Munky ordinary bitter - 2/3/09

First time brewing this particular recipe, but hoping it'll become a staple. Not yet got a house bitter. I bought the Nordic pot for the tun back in Nov last year. It was the first upgrade to my H&G placcy setup. You tried emailing Nordic direct? thats how I got both the Tun and the pot.
