    Super Secret - AG#1 Ringwood's Old Thumper

I topped up the wort to make 23 Ltrs thinking it might weaken it abit. It's finally below 30 Deg/C now so it has come indoors...man does it retain heat in those plastic buckets it must be 5 deg outside and it has taken over 4 hours to cool down from 70. Pitched the pre hydrated yeast at 25...

You can find some of the information in the reports, although the Mg is not included...they state all water is 'Hard'. I have just tried to guestimate the amount for the calculator. http://www.thameswater.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/corp/hs.xsl/899.htm

Adding a Tap to your HLT/Boiler

tank threads lookk ok but won't work!

Or you can get a 'thread file' and dress the flattened part - You can do it in situ, needle would work too, but be careful not to remove too much material. HGV fitters use them to repair threading on damaged spigots as i did early in my apprentiship 8-)

Adding a Tap to your HLT/Boiler

The Olives go on the end of the 15mm pipe, they are either soldered or epoxy can be used. I dont have these attached to the pipe or infact the pipes made up. My question was if anyone has used epoxy to bond the olives to their pipes.

Adding a Tap to your HLT/Boiler

No, i brought a vessel without one - so i have copper/brass connections ready, need to get a Qmax for the hole and I just need 2 pieces of 15mm copper pipe. Just wandered if anyone had used the epoxy method of sealing the olive on the pipes or did they use solder. I'm in the process of...

Double Dog Brewing - New brewery build

Nice setup! Mucho Jelous. Can i just ask - speaking as an Engineer, doesn't the stand for your HLT/Boiler look somewhat unstable? Are you going to put stabilisers on it?
