I always buy stuff just after she has been shopping for clothes, she spends £100 I buy shiny, I now have **** loads of shiny!

Yes, SWMBO's never hide any of their purchases!!! And they're very good at justifying that they haven't got enough or things are out of fashion, or "I saw this and just had to get it" etc. Then ask questions to make us look guilty like "How do I look in this?", "I bought this for you!!"

Do we ever ask, "What's wrong with the clothes you've got?", "I could have bought a shiny that would get more use than that!!"

Us Men have been trampled down by the feminists too much over the decades. :( :(

"Brew for Victory!!" :thumb: :thumb:

(Well at least do it when she's not around and it's not in the volumes you said you were brewing,  and hide all the shiny brewing stuff until it's used a bit and say "Oh, I've had that ages" or "My mate gave me that in exchange for....")

Back to the original problem I suppose. How do we get to brew what we want with Big Sister watching??? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

I have recently removed her driving rights in my car after she said it was 'too big' to drive - sorry but i have a series 3 BMW Sport Touring - I'm not risking it! She get's the years NCB on the insurance and thats all!

I think we need to organise a seperate membership of The Darkside Secret Brewer's Society  and see how many brews we can get past them before were caught out!

Think I must have the best wife in the world she lets me brew what I like when I like and i never have to hide anything I am the one who resticts what and when I brew ( thats due to other things I want to do )
but I can not for the life of me justify any shiny , Sorry guys shiny doesnt rock my boat

now if it was copper and dark wood and/or British racing green paint thats what I want to see

Caerleon, are you still coming to my brewday next Saturday. If so what excuse are you going to give her indoors bearing in mind she knows nothing about you little secret.

I've got to see a man about a Cat?!?

yeah, looking forward to a bit of company in the garage.
The thing with wives is let them know how much money youe saving. You can`t get pub quality beers from a supermarket and have you seen pub prices

I think you will have a few attending i think you might have to charge an entry fee.

The GF found my large pot being not so well hidden under the kitchen table covered in a large tarp...she was not 'happy' i made a joke about does she want to make enough soup for the next ten years in on session and she still was not smiling :D

The great thing about my GF is that she has one fantastic redeeming feature - she never gets overly angry or too violent...she just starts cleaning!!!

Result!!! There is a CAMRA Real Ale thing happening at the Walthamstow Social Club next week. I'm a new East London member so thought i would go along and sample a few ales Friday night and dragging her along as its a short bus ride home afterwards :drunk: open to non members like everything else.I'm not sure if its ok - if not then im sure the admin will delete http://www.pigsear.org.uk/wfss.pdf

Yeah, i know what you mean. :drink: I attended the one at St.Alban's last month and only managed 8 pints - thought it best to stop at that point and make my way home via train.
