    3.7v span the motor way too fast :lol: wanted to keep it simple so went for a single 1.5vAA in the end, works a treat total cost.... £2.20 for the stir bar ! I might have to dip my fingers in my pocket at some point and build a bigger one, but this'll do for me atm

    coopers ipa kit with a bag of light spraymalt and some dextrose, a good yeast like wyeast 1056 smackpack, this should give you 23 ltrs about 1.053 ish, 14days primary and a good dry hop at the end of fermentation for a few days will give you a good tasty beer for xmas :thumb:

    cheers cheapbrew, I really enjoyed it ! pre boil volume was 26.5ltrs and I managed to get 20ltrs into the fv and og was 1.052 (recommended 1.056 so not far off) I didn't top up as I don't mind a short brew picking up the hops on the nose this morning on opening the brew fridge so all good there...

    ended at 1.010, but it did start at 1.070 as I added a few bits and brewed slightly short, so I'm chuffed with the outcome. Had a glass full last night as I bottled it and it's tasting good, nice and hoppy :thumb:

    chucked the hops in mine on Friday (day 22 at a steady 19deg) reading was @1.014 so it should be somewhere near ready next weekend for a final gravity test just let it finish and use the hydrometer to check when it has, all will be good !
