just received the Belgian Blonde ag kit from the Malt Miller, ingredients look great, looking forward to brew day !
As it's only my second BIAB I'm after some guidance with mash temp and volume as it has no details included. Going on the product information I know I need to boil for 90min and I'll probably mash for 90min too but how much should I start with for a 23ltr brew, about 26.5ltr and top up pre-boil with sparge ? a 90 minute boil will reduce it more than my first brew which was a 60 minute boil so I'll need to top it up to 23ltr before it hits the fv, what with, just pre boiled water, I don't mind a short brew if it keeps the og healthy  ? and what temp should I mash at 68deg ? I'm not sure!

got this going yesterday, the mrs banished me to the garden after last weeks effort ! didn't get started until lunch time so I finished off with a head torch on
90min mash at 66deg, it held the temperature well seeing as it wasn't too warm out, only dropping a little in the last half an hour, dunk sparge in 5ltrs and a 90min boil adding 83g of Hallertauer Mittelfrueh at the start ( they really do smell good!) as stated and 680g of Candi sugar syrup at 10min, had a preboil of 28ltrs @1.052 and finished with 21ltrs in the fv @1.066 so I'm happy with that, no doubt I shall get more confident in my procedures as I brew more and will get a little more efficient too
it's currently sat in the fridge at 20deg and the rehydrated t-58 is happy as Larry as it's giving the blow off tube a decent run
managed to get my Belfast Blonde into a secondary too yesterday for a little conditioning and i chugged a few AIPA's through the day to help me along
cheers :thumb:
