Thinking about making my next batch last night. As it is a combined pale malt mash and dark grain steep most of the flavour is probably coming from the dark grains, right ? So why not miss out the mash and use liquid malt extract instead ?
Then its just a steep and hop tea (or hop extract).

Yes you could do that as you can do this with most styles. It will make beer but I doubt if it will be close to the intended recipe
