The dog took us to the pub again so I had a couple of pints of Sussex Best. This is what I’m starting with at home and it’s gorgeous, I even got my Belgian glass out for it

Our last dog wouldn’t pass a pub without trying to get in the door, our current two couldn’t care. I need to trade them in!
This is good, it’s a sipper not a guzzler for me. A bit boozy which I didn’t expect.
There’s fine rain in the air and the breeze is picking up so I think we’re in for a good shower, hopefully a good storm - love a good storm. In the meantime I’m having another beer my wife brought home for me while I cook up a batch of beef chilli.
It’s been an eventful day, culminating in my election as chair of the board of a professional body I’m part of. Whilst it’s a massive honour it’s going to bring a lot of extra work I‘m going to struggle to make time for.
Seems like a good time to open this 2018 California Zinfandel. It’s a little outside my normal price range. I don’t drink a lot of wine so I’m really considering increasing the normal price range to compensate!

Popped an Inppy in the fridge for tomorrow as they are gushers and accidentally knocked it and it started leaking so had it tonight, it’s just shy of 500 days old omg I feel both merry after one and how pleased it’s turned out so very complex.
I love California Zinfandel perhaps not in that price bracket, by far my favourite grape/wine.
Another beer from my wife. I just tasted the chilli and it’s bloody gorgeous!
I used to drink 2 or 3 £10 bottles of a wine a week. I’ve realised why I stopped drinking wine when after I picked up a couple of pricier bottles (voucher from a very happy patient went on 4 bottles instead of a case). Now I’m thinking one or two like this a month is a very acceptable outlay, and I’m still quids in. Drink yourself rich!
Travelled up the coast to the slightly larger town of himare today for some souvenir shopping and getting the kids out of the sun and picked up a couple of different beers.
This Amber ale, surprisingly good, malty with a nice bitter finish.
And this dark lager, which was really lovely, hints of coffee but nice and refreshing.

Godawan won the single malt scotch whiskey in the world championship 2024, which cost about £55.00 in the UK.I’m hearing great things about Japanese whiskey (not a word about Indian though ) seen a bottle in sainsburys down to £25 son not the same price range

A Bonza Boston Bitter to start with followed by another taste of my Golden Bitter, nice lacing too.
I’ve just realised I’m drinking and not posting. I’ve just had a Faith and a glass of my own cask bitter. Thinking about going out to a local tap room where they should have a Mexican food wagon I believe

A rather Lovely Merlot dominated Bordeaux cheers and happy Friday.
At the tap room (Musket Brewery). I’m having a Fife & Drum, my wife is having a rhubarb cider. Food wagon due shortly 
I need to try and recreate this, or something like it, some day soon. Centennial is the business.
I’ve got my order in with the food wagon (I always get the first order ). We’re having chicken fajitas, chicken tacos, black bean burritos, and nachos with beef chilli. In the meantime I’m having a pint of Trigger. I’ve also included a picture of the casks in the tap room.

Dark Rock part grain Malvern Pale Ale. Either it's getting better with age or some bottles are better than others or is it my taste recovering after Covid?
I'm having a few cans of Doom Bar (this stuff has really grown on me, wasn't a fan for a long time but can't get enough now!) after spending what seems like an eternity setting up my Klarstein Mundschenck for its first ever brewday tomorrow.
