a nice way for a home brewer to remember a friend. When you come to drink it. Have 2 ( one for your friend ).

The recipe is for a 55 litre batch,
9600 grams maris otter,
800 grams crystal,
500 grams torri wheat,

total rains = 11kg x 2.5 ltrs per kilo = 27.5 litres in mash tun,
i put the treated liquor into the mash tun and add all the grain into the tun,
75 c strike temp = 66 c mash temp ( cold grain )
90 min mash batch sparge
1st runnings = 14 litres @ 1092 og
2nd runnings = 22 litres @ 1068 og
3rd runnings = 21 litres @ 1028 og
4th runnings = 15 litres @ 1019 og

10 min boil 40 g challenger 7.2% aa
10 min boil 40g fuggles 4.5% aa
40 g nelson sauvin and 40 g fuggles in hop rocket
leave to cool to 85c then pump through hop rocket and wort chiller strait into the fermenter at 20 c
starter twice made up from single vile of wlp 005
pitched and airated with stainless air stone for 1hour fermenter set to 20c
fermentation started after 20 hrs
first time ive used wlp 005 normally just use nottingham x 2 saatchets
looking forward to seeing how it comes out.
after 7 days i add 20g nelson sauvin in a hop bag into the fermenter for a further 7 days,
