Agreed Falco, City have got the fire power to win games. They just need to stop them going in the other end. However, as a Liverpool fan, I’m happy for them see them spend that sort of money for little gain. I’d love to see their books (and all the businesses they set up, sorry accept tender for) to make it past FFP. Although they did prove that FFP is a pile of rubbish!

I doubt they would spend the money if they thought there would be little gain, I don't think he will end up at city but if he does it's going to be good.
Clubs would be queuing up for him if the price wasn't so hig even at 33 years old.

I can't see he'll end up anywhere other than City what with Guardiola and all those ex-Barca suits pulling the strings behind the scenes, it's got to be a shoo-in but there's going to be one hell of legal wrangle about Messi's contract before he goes anywhere

But if you believe his haters Pep's off to pastures new as he doesn't stay with clubs so how's that going to work?

Not sure I understand your question there @Chippy_Tea, sorry. For the record, and despite me supporting the Reds from M16 for the last 50-odd years, I'm not one of those so-called Pep haters, he's a brilliant coach (and so is Klopp), just sorry he's ended up with managing your lot!

I would love to see Messi playing in the premier League. City looked to be the only club capable of paying his wages.

Agreed @samale, it would good to see if he could hack it in the English game, especially those wet and windy Monday night away games at Leeds :laugh8:

He's a special player. I don't think we will see another for a very long time. Messi is the best player in my life time. I was too young to appreciate Diego maradona

Been fortunate to see him in the flesh at the Camp Nou and at Old Trafford a few times over the years and as you say, a once in a lifetime player clapa

I watched him at Anfield last season. His movement on and off the ball is incredible.

You say -

I can't see he'll end up anywhere other than City what with Guardiola and all those ex-Barca suits pulling the strings

but Peps haters are all saying he will be off to pastures new as he doesn't stay with clubs long it cannot be both.

Yep you’re correct @Chippy_Tea, it can’t be both, but as long as Pep’s still at city together with the former Barca suits, if I was a betting man, then there’s only one destination for Messi and that’s at the Emptihad. Unless PSG come along with all their petro-wealth to scupper the deal athumb..

:laugh8: 🎣 Just joshing mate!

Interesting stats there @Chippy_Tea but as the article states with the caveat: “Just because a game is sold out, it doesn’t mean every single season ticket holder actually turns up” ashock1

You look at a lot of Arsenal games you see a lot of empty seats but officially they have sold out.
