At the same time we're having radiator moved,all floor removed in extension,kitchen and hall and tiled plus the wall behind where the fire will sit tiled to make a feature of it.
You need a woodshed. Doesn't need to be huge. I've got 2 years worth undercover at all times.There's loads round here selling seasoned wood. The burner is British made from Charlton and Jenrick,5kw in the wide version.

Na i learned many years ago to make a pig's ear of cleaning and then SWMBO made me stick to home brewing and driving her around (she doesn't drive) and she looks after the rest, i do wash up and hoover but that's about it.If you get the duster and pledge out, and give it the odd tickle around, then you’ll keep your coal fire forever.
