Maybe it's easier to split a cut round with a wood grenade once it's seasoned a bit.
When it's still fully 'wet' it might not break apart as easy to a few taps with Mr sledge

Now you just need a chainsaw and log splitter. And somewhere to store the logs under cover.

I also need a couple of other quotes as fire depending I've priices from 4/9 to 5/4...that's 1000 and hundreds...
Ruddy heck!

It's going on an internal wall in a single storey extension with the flue going through the pitched roof and up the side of the house.

Are you still going for it Clint or has the price put you off?

We will be having the chimney breast opened out so i can imagine it wont be cheap.

I recon I can get it done cheaper. My workmate had his fire place opened out, fire boarded, beam, hearth and plastered. Jotul fire, chimney lined etc. paid around £3500.
The place I went to is quoting £200 a meter for double lined flue pipe..I probably need around 6m. I can get the same Duraflue stuff elsewhere for £100/m. So a huge saving there.

I am not sure of your set up Clint but can you not avoid going through the roof if its on an external wall?
