Winter Brew and Swap - Tropical Stout

My recipe would have lighter had I not chucked in some Black Malt.

Checked the SG of my Tropical Stout MkII today. After 8 days it's at 1022. I was so tempted to lift the lid to check if I had another infection, but managed to resist. What will be will be when it's finished fermenting.

I also opened one of the 5 bottles from my MkI infected brew. If I don't follow up with any posts this week, you'll know why. It tastes very similar to Guinness Foreign Extra Stout actually. Wish me luck.

I’ve never tasted a tropical stout so I’ve no idea what it should taste like but if it tasted like foreign extra I will be well pleased lol
Colour looks spot on there.

Basically we agree on a style to brew, the last went to a vote. You confirm how many you would like to swap, normally 1 to 3. You post and receive the same number in return.
Give a short review of the beers you received. Good/bad points and maybe what you have learned from brewing the style selected.

They are usually 3-months apart so if we're swapping in November for Tropical Stouts then I'd guess it will February for the next one.

We have a plan for next year, I’ll have to check back and confirm details. Four swaps are planned throughout the year, three short ones and a ‘slow-burner’. Broad styles for 2023 were agreed by interested participants during the summer. I think we’re due to brew ‘Specialty IPA’ in January and swap at the end of Feb. There’ll be a vote on which IPA we’re doing sometime in December.
The slow burner was Imperial Stout. The swap will be due around Halloween time, and it’s up to you how long you want to age it for.

Which part? There was a Google poll in August or September. Contributors were anonymous so I’ve no idea who did the voting.

Didn’t even see it only seen up to the tropical one. Was planning an imp over Christmas hols so no issues.

No schedule as yet, just a broad plan. Found the poll result post after a bit of digging. It turns out I tend to talk a lot of crap on the forum when start digging back through the posts
